1. Engine Speed Sensor

However, the code won't appear on its own, without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It's a bit tricky to test because there are several pins on the connector, and they all have different functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. Examine for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed, i noticed a huge reduction in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or, my injectors were not firing. I took out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was dry. When I start the engine without sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each hole in the injector and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. I get zero Ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. 3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump of the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is the same as the G4 and both are used in the 80 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or from a parts store. It is simple to test them - put your DMM in resistance mode and take measurements between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black end of the connector). They should be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

5. Tachometer
