Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of previous albums. It was a more ferocious, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. Its edgier sound reflected the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's improved ability on the drums and a more mature, confident vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
